Welcome to the Mineral Volunteer Fire Department's web page. Mineral (Co.2) serves the area of Mineral and runs mutual aid
in the rest of Louisa County, Virginia. Co.2 runs 5 Pierce trucks out of its station, and a chief's car. We just adapted the 9-1-1 system in our county. We now have paid medics staying at the station from 6 to 6, Monday-Friday. There are 32 members in the fire dept. And about half of that are active. The county itself was formed in 1742. The Mineral Volunteer Fire Department was formed in 1935. The population in Mineral is roughly over 400. The County of Louisa was named after princess Louisa in England.
